Sarah earned her Masters in Acupuncture from the Tai Sophia Institute in Columbia, MD in 2006. Prior to that she worked in the mental health field as a Social Worker. She is the co-author of a newly released workbook titled, Transformative Nutrition: An Integrative and Holistic Approach to Sustainable Weight-Loss, an 8-Week Course (to read more about her approach to holistic weight-loss click here). Sarah had the vision for a collaborative approach to holistic wellness care and opened this center in the spring of 2007.
Sarah loves her work as an acupuncturist. Acupuncture and Chinese medicine offer a unique lens through which to view the body, it’s functions, and the symptoms that can arise. Rather than masking symptoms (such as pain, digestive disorders, infertility, anxiety, and so on) this lens allows Sarah to get to the root of the issue and treat the underlying imbalance. The results can be profound and far-reaching. Sarah enjoys partnering with her clients to create positive shifts in their lives. When Sarah is not at the center she is hanging with her 1 year old daughter Olive and hubby Mike in their home in Hampden.
What patients have said about Sarah:
“I became a true believer in acupuncture once noticing my frequent colds begin to disappear, and then after a year of being in treatment being able to come off of my allergy medication… I feel so comfortable working with Sarah, I have never felt judged in her presence. She has helped me to see things in a new way and has been so supportive this year.” -K
“I came to Sarah for anxiety, and have felt so much calmer since starting treatment. I was also surprised to see my menstrual cycle become much easier!” -M
“I had always wanted to try acupuncture and it wasn’t until my back went out for the third time and traditional medicine didn’t help that I made my appointment to see Sarah. Acupuncture has been wonderful for healing my lower back pain and I’ve also been treated simultaneously for other ailments with positive results. The whole experience is peaceful, relaxing and therapeutic. I highly recommend Seeds for the convenient Hampden location, the warm and welcoming environment and for the friendly and knowledgeable staff.” -R
