Massage

Massage therapy techniques available to you at Seeds Center for Whole Health…

* Deep Tissue releases the chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep finger pressure on the contracted areas (either following or going across the grain of muscles, tendons and fascia) and focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue.
* Swedish Massage is a system of long strokes, kneading and friction techniques on the more superficial layers of the muscles, combined with active and passive movements of the joints.
* Neuromuscular Massage applies concentrated finger pressure to “trigger points” (painful irritated areas in muscles) to break cycles of spasm and pain.
* Pregnancy Massage. Massage Therapy is infinitely beneficial before, during and after pregnancy and can be helpful for partners, siblings and other family members as well.
* Sports Massage. Massage therapy focusing on muscle systems relevant to a particular sport.
* Active Isolated Stretching. Stretching one muscle at a time for a flexible body that is more efficient, more easily trained to strength and endurance, enjoys more range of motion, stays balanced more easily, is less prone to injury, recovers from workouts more quickly and feels better.
* Trager Technique is a bodywork technique often used for chronic pain (especially back pain), headaches and neuromuscular disorders by applying a gentle massage with rhythmic rocking, bouncing and shaking of the body or limbs to relax and loosen the muscles and joints.
* Myofacial Release is a form of bodywork that is manipulative in nature and seeks to rebalance the body by releasing tension in the fascia. Long, stretching strokes are utilized to release muscular tension.
* Cranio-Sacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle form of bodywork which can promote relaxation and release of restrictions in the body. In a cranio-sacral therapy session, the practitioner works with the body’s cranio-sacral system which consists of the layers of connective tissue (fascia) surrounding the brain and spinal cord, the bones of the skull and sacrum, and the cerebrospinal fluid which ebbs and flows through these structures. Through light touch and gentle pressure, the practitioner can feel for changes or blockages in the flow of the cranio-sacral rhythm and help allow them to release.
